Resident’s Petition Brings About Joint Meeting

A recent petition drawn up by a local Wells resident called upon the state of Vermont to dredge Little Lake, claiming that the current money being spent is not working to keep the lake navigable.  Another Wells resident recently distributed the email addresses of some state officials and encouraged residents to contact staff members of the Department of Environmental Conservation to say that they were dissatisfied with the conditions in the lake.

Vermont Lakes Coalition Meets with Vermont DEC

The LSCCF, Inc. is a member organization of The Coalition of Vermont Lakes, Inc. (TCVL)  TCVL was organized as a 501 c 3 to represent all the smaller lakes in Vermont to various bodies including the State of Vermont and on occasion the public.  That representation process includes member perspectives on lake health, lake restoration, trends worthy of review, strategies for lake maintenance / restoration, and implementation of worthy strategies.  One of the activities of the TCVL is a annual meeting with the Commissioner of the State of Vermont Agency of Natural Resources.  The 2015 version of this annual meeting occurred on October 13 with representatives from five lake associations from the eight member lake associations within the TCVL.
